Dean Fields

Info
Dean Fields, originally from Mechanicsville, Virginia, USA. He quit graduate school to follow his dream of being a musician. I first came across his music listening to the Acoustic Long Island Podcast and loved it immediately. Dean has performed over 500 shows since 2003, writing his acoustic album "songs on the mend" along the way. Columbia’s Free Times said "Dean Fields writes lyrics like Leonard Cohen and sings like Jeff Buckley. It’s no surprise that there’s a serious buzz on this Virginia singer-songwriter"
His debut album Imitations is one of CDBaby’s top selling albums and received rave reviews.

Sophie Zelmani

Bio
I first came across Sophie Zelmani many years ago when i heard her song 'I'll Remember You' in an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I fell in love with the song, and as time went by i began listening to more of her music and became a fan.
Born in Stockholm in 1972, having never performed in front of an audience she recorded her first album in 1995 with Sony. Since that first beautiful album she has gone on to release a further seven albums, the most recent being 'The Ocean And Me' which was released in September.
With her beautiful lyrics and haunting voice its hard to believe anyone wouldn't be moved upon hearing her voice.

Ad Vanderveen

I came across the music of Ad Vanderveen a while back now when i was looking through some music i had on my PC. I have no idea where it came from, as previous to that day i had no recollection of Ad or the song but i found a song called Start a New Life and i fell in love with it immediately.

Here's a video of Ad performing the song with Kersten de Ligny
Blogger: Radio In My Head - Create Post

Ad was born in Hilversum in The Netherlands in 1956 but his musical influences come more from his Canadian family.
Over the years he has explored different styles of songwriting working with and in various bands before going solo in the early 1990's

He has to date recorded 16 solo Cd's as well as being involved many other projects and working with many other musicians all around the world.

His style varies from the acoustic solo work sometimes featuring singer and companion Kersten de Ligny, to 'electric improvisation' with his garage band The O'Neils.

You can read more about him, download some song samples and (i think) order his Cd's from his official site click HERE
You can also listen to some more of his work on Myspace

Here's another couple of videos of Ad for you to enjoy

Welcome!!!

Hello one and all!

Welcome to the first in what i hope will be many blogs from me.

This blog is all about music that i have heard and loved. I listen to a wide range of music old and new (although if i am honest my main love is for country and folk) so hopefully there will be something for everyone as time goes by. Some of the artists i will be blogging about will be well known and a lot of them wont be. I tend to find myself drawn to music that has smaller dedicated followings more than the chart topping artists but some of the stuff i listen to i would imagine could be classed as popular.

I hope you enjoy the blogs, please comment and subscribe if you like it. Any comments on how to improve the blog or suggestions of artists to feature in the future are welcomed.

Thanks for reading :D
